We are looking for instructional software for our introductory AI course. Subjects of interest include search, frames and/or semantic nets, resolution, means-ends analysis, planning. We are looking for tools that allow high-level exploration of these topics and shield the students from implementation-level details. I would recommend the San Marco Explorer package for LISP from Gold HIll
Computers. It has demo programs that you can run to explore various
topics in AI. You can also look at the LISP code to see how the
algorithms were implemented.
A number of currently available AI texts have optional floppy disks
you can buy that have sample programs that explore some of the AI
topics you have mentioned. I can't remember specific titles
Could you please post a summary of the replies you receive?
