Does anyone out there know of a simple and fast method for the experimental determination of an already purified protein's isoelectric point, without buying or constructing unusual PAGE apparatus? Most of the recent methods I have seen apply to separating similar proteins away from each other, and involve construction of different apparatuses, or purchase of buffer gradient chemicals. Also, can the pI of a protein be determined under native conditions, or must it be denatured during the process? Thanks, reply to ABELSON.WESTAWAY, c/o BIONET-20.ARPA Shawn Westaway -------
