[unix-pc.uucp] smail using euid instead of LOGNAME

bob@rush.cts.com (Bob Ames) (01/01/89)

I'm running smail 2.5. I often operate in superuser mode, by using
the AT&T UNIX PCs '-p' option to give me a root shell.

I often send mail while in these root shells. Until I switched
to smail, my outgoing address on news and mail was 'bob'. Now
that smail handles things, my address shows as 'root' - at least
for mail. I think news still works properly [we'll see. I'm posting
this from a root shell].

I sure would like if my outgoing mail would say 'bob' instead of
'root'. Anyone have any ideas?
