[net.micro] Japanese drives vs. Infoworld

ctk@ecsvax.UUCP (04/14/84)

In the latest Info-world Dvorak's column says that new Japanese floppy drives
have the following problem
"... the collet [the thingamajig that grabs the disk
hub ] has a tendency to chip off little pieces of oxide ... (which) ...
finds its way to the head and welds itself on ... and gobbles up media."

What? Is this true? Are my half-height Teacs eating my media?
