The sandwich method for detecting hybrids in an ELISA assay apparently works very well as it is the basis of an assay from Hood's group (see PNAS 87: 8923-8927 [1990]). You would coat the wells with streptavidin and biotinylate the RNA. Then used digoxigenin to tag the probe. We haven't tried it yet, but it sounds pretty straightforward. Keith Hutchison
