TOXAPHENE ANALYSIS:

I am interested in the quantitation of TOXAPHENE, a pesticide produced by the
extensive chorination of camphene. This pesticide, which is now banned in the
USA and CANADA, is a very complex mixture of well over 400 isomers of Cl2-Cl10
chlorobornane isomers. I am interested in obtaining samples of the three most
toxic components of the mixture.

They are:

Toxicant A-1: 2,2,5-endo 6-exo 8,8,9,10-octachlorobornane
Toxicant A-2: 2,2,5-endo 6-exo 8,9,9,10-octachlorobornane
Toxicant B : 2,2,5-endo 6-exo 8,9,10-heptachrorobornane

At the present I would only require enough for analytical standards (5-10 mg),
but am also going to try to scale up and produce 500mg-1 gm quantities. I
would like to hear from anyone who would have some samples of the above
compounds or have protocols for their isolation.
