[bionet.molbio.methds-reagnts] nucleases

What is the maximum length of a nucleotide sequence that can be
recognized by a sequence-specific nuclease?

prasher@HYATT.WHOI.EDU (Doug Prasher) (05/18/91)

Fellow Netters,

Can anyone point me to a commercial source of immobilized nucleases?

I am considering using such a reagent to remove contaminating bacterial
DNA in Taq Polymerase preps. Or is there already a fail-safe method
out there in Netland. I have considered the UV method but apparently
it only reduces Taq activity instead of inactivating all of the
contaminating DNA.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

So long, farewell.
