[bionet.molbio.seqnet] Welcome U.K. Scientists!

Kristofferson@BIONET-20.BIONET.EDU (David Kristofferson) (06/17/88)

This message is both a test and a welcome to scientists in the United
Kingdom. Messages from the new International BIOSCI bboard network
are now being carried at Daresbury in the United Kingdom. This
message is being directed to a bulletin board on the BIONET computer
in Mountain View, California and a copy of the note will be
automatically posted on the corresponding bboard in Daresbury and at
other BIOSCI nodes (below) around the world. Similarly, messages
posted directly to Daresbury will be relayed to other BIOSCI nodes.

All of the bboards listed below are now sent as separate mailings to
Daresbury and instructions for SEQNET subscribers on participating in
any or all of these groups will be posted soon.

Other participating centers on the BIOSCI network are located at the
Universities of Uppsala (Sweden) and Maryland as well as sites in
Finland. A node in Israel is preparing to join the network soon and
one may also be established at the EMBL in Heidelberg.

The current list of BIOSCI bboards follows. Other topics may be added
soon. We hope that this new service leads to the wider sharing of
scientific information, the establishment of new collaborative
ventures, and, ultimately, to exciting new advances in the biological
sciences!

				Sincerely,

				David Kristofferson, Ph.D.
