Well, I am somewhat of a novice when it comes to keeping fish alive and happy. I have managed to keep 3 tanks running for the last year or so without losing a single fish. (Which for me is something of a miracle) I have noticed some abnormal behaviour just recently in my 3.5 gal. tank which contains 1 small fantail. The fish lays on the bottom of the tank with increasing frequency. I have checked for ammonia and chlorine and the water is clean. The only thing I can guess is that the temperature must be dipping down too low now that winter has started. (The room NEVER gets below 70 degrees) The fish appears healthy, except for this behaviour. Anybody have any suggestions? Do I need to heat that tank? By the way, the fish's fins are spread, which is a good indicator of health. Possible reply path: sun!ptsfa!pbhyf!jdp Thanks in advance!! Jerry D. Pierce
