This really isn't about aquariums, but I thought somebody here might be interested. I have a program for MS-DOS computers that simulates an aquarium on CGA color screens. It's kinda interesting. There's a bunch of fish swimming around on the screen (with air bubbles, big & small fish, etc). If you want a copy of this, e-mail me, I'll send you a uuencoded arc file of the program (posting the file to this group would seem to be a little obnoxious). It's monochrome and isn't real accurate as it has seahorses and freshwater fish. The fish do eat the live food (worms) and occasionally get into fights however. Did that junk end up in the ADUS library ? For anything running the X Window System (versions 10 or 11) there exists a program called `xfish' which floats a bunch (20?) small fish in the background; if you click one mouse button on a fish it starts to head the other direction; if you click the other, it `shoots' the fish. Sort of silly, but it beats the dull gray matte background, and some people find it endlessly fascinating... It was written by John Bradley <bradley@cis.upenn.edu>. I (or maybe he?) could post it here (alt.aquaria) if there really is interest (it is a small program...) Mark Eichin <eichin@athena.mit.edu> PS. to athena users: If you want to run it, just `attach sipb' and run `/mit/sipb/vaxbin/xfish' (or rtbin if you are on a PC/RT). _Mark_
