Sure, you'll say... We've seen terrariums with the moss and the little plants and the condensation on the glass. We've seen the aquariums with fish, plants, and maybe a snail or two to eat the algae off the walls... But let's speculate! What happens when the human race runs into extraterrestrial life? Well, I'll tell ya! BIG BUCKS!!! It just stands to reason that an entire variety of life-forms will be encountered, of varying sizes and shapes. Inevitably, SOMEONE will think one or more of the smaller ones to be "cute" or "neat-O"... so POOF, there's a market for alien environment simulators!!! Of course, since no such life-form has yet been found, such speculative design is quite a task. Why not give it a shot? Pick your favorite hostile environment, and try to economically reproduce it in an attractive table-top container (using as many standardly available materials as possible). Try to keep it's pumps/filters/heaters/coolers/circulators/etc. noise-free. Good Luck! Rick Miller daegin@csd4.milw.wisc.edu Alright Thackery, say "Surprise!"
