Before you buy a "private label" remember that those folks generally buy unlabelled floppies in bulk from a real manufacturer and put their own label on them. Quality varies from one labeller to the next.

#R:dalcs:-68000:fortune:28000027:000:902 fortune!burton Apr 18 13:35:00 1984 There aren't that many people who actually *manufacture* floppy disks. Xerox, for example, buys media in bulk from various sources, and private- labels it, relying on the FUD (fear, uncertainty, doubt) among its customers to extract a premium price for a non-premium product. Of course, it's "certified", but that's no better than a high-quality Verbatim, or a Dysan or Maxell disk. This issue comes up periodically. Don't buy media except with manufacturer's label on it. And, avoid memorex (which may have been the source for the Xerox media), and kind-of-avoid Wabash. 3M is Ok, but with poor quality control. These are my personal opinions, not those of my present or former employers.
