[net.micro] IBM-PC running ethernet with TCP/IP

mknox@UT-NGP.ARPA (04/19/84)

Has anyone seen/used such a beast? I remember there has been some past
discussion of ethernet on a PC, and also of running TCP/IP on a PC. But
what about both? If so, under what operating system?

				tnx

Yes, such a thing exists. Here at MIT we wrote a package of
network code for the IBM PC's that includes TCP/IP. The major protocols
implemented are telnet and tftp. In addition to these we have supdup
and some random little protocols like set the clock over the network, a
cookie user, host name resoltion, etc. If you have questions you can
send them to me (dab@mit-borax) or to the implementor of most of this
code John Romkey (romkey@mit-borax).
