Can anyone point me to PD tools or extensions to the Gnu Emacs Info system. E.g. - Info->tex or latex converter GNU Emacs comes with a Texinfo conversion program which translates Texinfo format documents to TeX for printing and Info for online browsing. Info files contain no markup for TeX to use, I imagine you might want a program that uses the Info constructs to produce TeX markup but I know of none. - X or News interface to info GNU Emacs runs under X so whatever you can do with an Info file in Emacs you can do under X. I don't know about News. I personally wrote a one button mouse interface to the Info reader and extensions to the Info syntax (along with changes to info.el and informat.el) which allow you to create node references that execute emacs, shell, or even window system commands when selected. No text need be displayed when the command is executed, so one can create 'command menus' in Info. These extensions are available wherever better archives of GNU Emacs Lisp code are kept.
