[alt.hypertext] NLS-like editor

Hello,

I am involved in a hypertext project one of whose components is a
structured editor similar NLS; i.e.,  the document is thought of as
a tree which captures its hierarchical nature like so:

My question: Are there any PD/Shareware ports of NLS-like text editors
for the PC?  

Any suggestions, experiences, and comments concerning this type of
approach are welcomed as well.
