this is a quick-and-dirty dinner my husband taught me, apparently the invention of my mother-in-law. it's a variation on spaghetti. hubby thinks his mom invented it because all the kids in his family loved ketchup so much. since it does use ketchup instead of standard spaghetti sauce, it may be better for kids who often are sensitive to spicy things. the onions were added by my husband, and can easily be dropped. the whole thing takes maybe 15 minutes to prepare. no measurements, adjust as necessary... add ketchup to ground beef just until the beef is moist all over. if you like, add chopped onions. also add salt and pepper to taste. fry the beef in a little bit of margarine. in the meantime, cook spaghetti or another pasta as you normally do. when both are finished, blend together and take to the table. each person can then put as much extra ketchup on their portion as they like. also takes about 15 minutes to clean up. we have this at least once every two weeks. -cindy kandolf cindy@solan.unit.no trondheim, norway
