Although I was raised with the archaic English system of weights and measures, it's about time we were done with it. What happened to the U.S. Govt. that [last time I remember] said we would be totally converted by 1980? For those who say "It would be hard to get used to...", I submit this: In the summer of 1982, I spent 4 weeks in Europe visiting my parents. The first two weeks were a bit strange, seeing highway signs in km and grocery products in kg and ml. After returning to Oregon, while I was driving on the Interstate, I realized I had forgotten what a mile was. It really doesn't take that long to acclimate yourself... you'd be surprised how long it doesn't take. [Apologies for those who don't want to see this in net.micro. This is where it started.]
