This is my first posting to the network. We have only discovered that
we have readnews here!! I am enjoying the recipes group VERY much, and
am an avid collector of recipes. I am still searching for the PERFECT
pecan pie.
This is THE M*O*S*T scrumptious dessert on a hot spring day!
FRESH STRAWBERRY PIE
2 8-inch baked pie shells
Fresh strawberries, cleaned and halved (our strawberries were early this year)
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 {level} Tablespoons cornstarch
1 1/2 cups water
Red food coloring (if desired)
3 oz. box strawberry jello
Put sugar, cornstarch, and water in pan. Cook slow until clear and
thick (about 5 minutes). Take off stove. Add 5 drops red food
coloring and 3-oz. box of jello. Stir in. Let cool. Pour over
strawberries which have been placed in baked pie shells. Let set in
refrigerator about an hour. Eat! Serve with a dollop of your favorite
whipped topping.
Enjoy!!!! (1985) -N. Schnepp
