I have posted the source to net.sources as there were several requests about how to get umodem36 in the first place. The new version is umodem36a.c . I didn't know who maintains it and whether they were working on version 3.7. The main problem was the way signals have changed for "read". This has been fixed so that it works. There may be a more elegant solution, but a bird in hand is worth two in the bush. The affected routine in the source code is "readbyte" which used the alarm signal for timeout. There is a new compile flag "V4.2". I would like to thank andrea akerib for her help in getting this to work. rick frerichs decvax!genrad!rick
