[unix-pc.sources] troff dot matrix printers

dlp@akguc.ATT.COM (Dan Philen) (11/28/88)

Several months ago I requested the source for troff. People were
VERY helpful and supplied me with exactly what I wanted in the
from of troff, egn, tbl, etc with postscript drivers. Great!!

In the process someone sent me troff for a 24 pin and 8 pin dot matrix
printer. Unfortunately, my systems admin deleted those files. Does
anyone have the code for the printer driver for 24pin or 8 pin dot
matrix printers for troff. I think I can use my existing
code for troff, so I only need the drivers. Of course, it may
be easier just to send the whole thing.

Thanks in Advance to the helpful Net.

I'd like to get troff working with an Epson printer. Can you
share what you have or is it proprietory? I've got nroff but
it gets confused when I change point size and I don't see an
easy fix. I need source for troff and dot-matrix drivers too.

Alternately, has anyone done a driver to RAM. I'd like to
be able to put text, graphics, etc. together and I'm looking
at using a bit-mapped buffer to build up a page which I can
dump to the dot-matrix printer in graphics mode. With the
fonts available on the 7300, I should be able to set up
something to print a news-letter (the goal). Thanks.
