I recently downloaded both UMODEM and UC to our VAX, compiled them, and tried to run them. Problems. Both programs begin properly, and handshaking occurs as it should. When downloading from the VAX to my PC, I always hang on the 18th or 19th block. Uploading works for a little while, then just dies. Thinking my communications program was screwed up, I tried another. I still hung up. Anyone have any ideas? I am on an IBM-PC, by the way. The PC programs I tried were a) an old version of InterComm b) Mite P.S. Does XTALK XVI support xmodem protocall yet? Thanks, RF Starr

You'll probably get 20 replies -- ?modem programs send sector Organization: Systems Eng., Carleton Univ., Ottawa, Canada Lines: 4 numbers in binary. Sector number 19 is the XOFF character. All ?modem sendees must not react to XOFF/XON, as the sender includes those chars as legitimate data.
