BIOSERVE is a network file server for BIOSCIence area. A help file follows
this announcement. The server accepts both interactive message requests
and E-mail requests. If the server does not respond to interactive message,
you are encouraged to send your requests by E-mail. People on networks
other than BITNET can access BIOSERVE files via E-mail. The E-mail
interface works for RFC822 headers. In case it does not respond to
your mail request, please report to us. The server is going
through changes everyday. New functions and new resources will be
announced whenever it is available on BIOSERVE. Please feel free to
mail me your questions, comments or suggestions.

BIOSERVE - HELP file

Files stored on BIOSERVE@UMDC.BITNET can be accessed from BITNET or
other networks. Currently BIOTECH and SEQNET bulletins are stored.
Future changes and additions to the server will be announced io the
BIOTECH bulletin board (to subscribe to BIOTECH, please send request
TO BIOTECH@UMDC.BITNET ).


If you are on a BITNET node, you can either use the MSG command or
E-Mail to gain access to BIOSERVE@UMDC. If you want to access from
another network, you can send in your request via E-Mail.

MSG Commands:
       (from an IBM computer)
        TELL BIOSERVE@UMDC cmd

       (from a VAX/VMS running JNET or VAX/UNIX running UREP)
        SEND BIOSERVE@UMDC cmd

E-mail:
    Mail requests can be sent to BIOSERVE@UMDC OR BIOSERVE@UMDC.BITNET
or BIOSERVE@UMDC.UMD.EDU and include the  cmd in the Subject: line.

cmd in the above statements can be substituted for the following
commands:
         HELP  (e.g. TELL BIOSERVE@UMDC HELP or Subject: HELP)
         LIST  (a catalog of BIOSERVE will be sent to you)
         SEND fileid ( where fileid can be substituted for any
                       file available on the server)
