From: <elliston@biovax.rutgers.edu> Dave: No, go right ahead and post it. But, what is the final answer here? Is there no access via arpanet without the dialup fee? I am assuming that this is the answer, but it didnt seem to be explicitly stated. Keith ------

From: David Kristofferson <Kristofferson@BIONET-20.ARPA> The answer is that, for now, there are no BIONET accounts without the access fee for ARPANET users. We will continue to monitor this however, because it is no great joy for us to collect money simply to pass it on. The alternative is to have each scientist get their own account with Telenet/Compuserve and pay Telenet/Compuserve directly. That would free things up for the handful of ARPANET users. However, the overall Telenet/Compuserve cost would be much higher if done on an individual basis. Our current arrangement lets us take advantage of high volume discounts so that all of the scientists come out ahead. Dave -------
