KRISTOFFERSON@BIONET-20.ARPA (03/30/88)
From: David Kristofferson <Kristofferson@BIONET-20.ARPA> The software described by Dr.'s Eugene Myers and Webb Miller in their CABIOS article "Optimal Alignments in Linear Space" (CABIOS. vol. 4 no. 1, pp. 11-17, 1988) is available on BIONET for downloading or via e-mail from bionet@bionet-20.arpa. C source code is provided for producing optimum sequence alignments while minimizing the use of computer memory. The files are in the BC: directory and are named BC:LINEAR.H BC:LINEAR.C BC:SAMPLE.C To download the files using Kermit, for example, issue the command kermit send bc:linear.h at the @ prompt and then alert your PC Kermit to receive the file. Use similar commands to send the other two files. Information about transfering files via Kermit and other protocols is given under HELP FILE-TRANSFER at the @ prompt on BIONET. BIONET has not tested and does not support this code. Please refer any questions to the authors at the addresses indicated in the CABIOS article. Sincerely, Dave Kristofferson BIONET Resource Manager kristofferson@bionet-20.arpa BIONET Users: Please refer to HELP SOFTWARE for information about contributed software. -------
