[bionet.general] New Documentation Arriving Shortly

SYEH@BIONET-20.ARPA (06/09/88)

From: Spencer Yeh <SYEH@BIONET-20.ARPA>

Dear Bionet Users:

We are pleased to announce that new documentation for BIONET and for
the IntelliGenetics software is now available. One copy of the
"IntelliGenetics User Manual" and one copy of the revised
"Introduction to BIONET" will be sent to each principal investigator
on BIONET. BIONET users should expect to receive this new
documentation in about two to three weeks.

The new "IntelliGenetics User Manual" replaces the older
"IntelliGenetics Short Course" and provides step-by-step examples of
common tasks performed by the IntelliGenetics Suite of molecular
biology programs.

The revised "Introduction to BIONET" has been extensively updated and
expanded. Login procedures have been greatly clarified, the sections
on programs and databases have been expanded, and a new
trouble-shooting chapter will help users diagnose common problems
encountered while using BIONET.

The "User Manual" has been developed over the past year, and a fair
share of the BIONET consultants' time has been devoted to revising the
"Introduction to BIONET" since January. We feel that this time has
been well spent since better documentation will facilitate the use of
our resource by the BIONET community. It is our hope that this
improved documentation will help us achieve our goal of making BIONET
easily usable by the molecular biology community which we serve.

Sincerely,
