[bionet.general] biocides: any interest in a mailing list?

erict@flatline.UUCP (J. Eric Townsend) (03/14/89)

I'm about to be doing some research into biocides that will last over the
next few months. I was wondering if there was anyone else interested
in biocides (on any level), and if there was a large number, if those
people were interested in a mailing list.

If only a few people are interested, I won't bother. (I'm thinking n>20
for a mailing list.)

The research I am doing will culminate in a technical market report to be
published by a company that publishes such things. I do not want
accusations of "suckering net people for free information" to fly at
some time in the future. If you feel that asking questions on the
net for this report is improper, please let me know.

My position: I feel that asking J. Random Biologist about whether
compound X is really a good antiseptic is no different than programmers
posting "I can't make x happen, what am I doing wrong?" to solve problems
they are having with their employer's equipment. Both of us have a motive
other than personal interest, that motive being making a living.
