[bionet.general] POP-BIO newsgroup passes, no go for MUS and CYTOG

kristoff@NET.BIO.NET (Dave Kristofferson) (03/24/89)

Today marks the end of the 60 day voting period on the population
biology (POP-BIO), mouse genetics (MUS), and cytogenetics methods
(CYTOG) newsgroups. POP-BIO passed the 40 vote mark a couple of weeks
back (48) but MUS and CYTOG failed to muster sufficient support and
will not be created. An announcement will be made on BIONEWS when the
new POP-BIO group is ready for operation. My thanks to all of you who
took the time to vote.

This Saturday also marks the halfway period in voting for the proposed
CANCER-RESEARCH (CANCERES) newsgroup. If you are interested in
participating in such a group (described in an earlier message on
BIONEWS), please send a message with the line YES ON CANCERES to one
of the voting addresses below. Voting on CANCERES remains open until
April 25th.

				Sincerely,

				Dave Kristofferson
