[bionet.general] Changes/consolidation of BIOSCI newsgroups

kristoff@NET.BIO.NET (Dave Kristofferson) (03/30/89)

Sometime during next week the following changes in the BIOSCI
newsgroup list will occur:

A new group, POPULATION-BIOLOGY, will be added.

	The groups PC-SOFTWARE, CONTRIBUTED-SOFTWARE, and
PC-COMMUNICATIONS will be merged into one group named
	BIO-SOFTWARE.

The following groups will be eliminated due to lack of
	activity:

			GENE-EXPRESSION
			ONCOGENES
			PLANT-MOLECULAR-BIOLOGY
			YEAST-GENETICS

The BITNET and USENET names of the new groups follow:

Internet BITNET USENET
-------- ------ ------
POPULATION-BIOLOGY	POP-BIO bionet.population-bio
BIO-SOFTWARE BIO-SOFT	bionet.software

If you wish to participate in either/both of the above two groups,
please send your subscription request to the appropriate BIOSCI node
below. Please note that current subscribers to PC-SOFTWARE,
PC-COMMUNICATIONS, and CONTRIBUTED-SOFTWARE will be automatically
enrolled in BIO-SOFTWARE unless they indicate otherwise.
