                      Bay Area ACM Siggraph
Technical Interest Group on Scientific Visualization
                             (TIGSV)
August Meeting in the Bay State

The third bi-monthly meeting of the (San Francisco) Bay Area
Siggraph TIG on Scientific Visualization will be held during the
SIGGRAPH '89 conference in Boston. The exact time and room will
be determined shortly.

TIGSV focusses on the rapidly advancing domain of the uses of
computer graphics in scientific research. While we are still in
the process of defining our objectives as a group, the large
turnout and lively exchange at our first two meetings bode well
for an active and productive interest group. We are taking
advantage of SIGGRAPH '89 (which comes close to our regular
meeting date) to establish contacts with those who share our
interest from a wider geographical area.

The theme for the August meeting is "Problems". Workers in
scientific visualization are invited to make short presentations
on their own specific visualization problems, or on their
perceptions of the problems of the "field" of scientific
visualization in general.
