[bionet.general] contributed-sw archives now at U of Houston

davison@UHNIX2.UH.EDU (Dan Davison) (09/27/89)

Thanks to Dave Kristofferson and Spencer Yeh, the contributed software
project will continue after the closure of BIONET. The programs and
documentation have been transferred to me at the University of
Houston. Those programs will soon be available by anonymous ftp and
by mail server. There will be an announcement in both BIONET-NEWS (or
its replacement) and CONTRIBUTED-SOFTWARE when the programs are
on-line.

I also plan to expand the scope of the server to cover Vax and Unix
public domain molecular biology software. Requests for other types of
machines (for instance the Amiga) should be sent to one of the
addresses below and I will see what I can do.
