The 11th Midwest Conference on Population Biology will be held October 26-28
at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  This conference provides an opportunity
for population biologists in the midwest to attend several invited talks
(12 are scheduled) describing current research in population biology and to
interact with other population biologists.  Faculty, students, and others are
encouraged to attend.  The meeting is sponsored by the Department of Zoology,
Department of Botany, Institute of Environmental Studies, and the Graduate
School of Miami University.
 
Registration for the meeting is $20 for students and $30 for others and
includes the banquet on Saturday night.  The speaker at the banquet will
be Dr. Leigh M. Van Valen and the topic will be "Evolution of Biotas --
