Well, it looks like one indication of the growth of BIOSCI is the speed at which newsgroups are being approved these days (perhaps we may have to tighten up our criteria 8-)! In the "good old days" I could put out a call for votes and after 30 of the 60 days still not have the required number of votes. On occasion newsgroup proposals would not be able to garner 40 votes in even 60 days. The proposed NEUROSCI group exceeded the required number of votes in less than 24 hours as did the Computational Biology group a few days ago. We will proceed to add this newsgroup to the BIOSCI/bionet collection. A message will be posted to BIONEWS/bionet.general when it is ready and the discussion leader will get the ball rolling on the new group.
