A faculty member here has a protein which consists at one point of a run of GXGXGXGXGXGXGXGXGGGGGG where X is usually serine but occasionally something else. (Looks like polymerase slipping to me). I am aware that this sort of thing has been seen before, esp. in Drosophila. If you know of a reference -- even just journal and year -- I would appreciate hearing about it.
