[bionet.software.pc] BACKSPACE-DELETE CHARACTER PROBLEM

IGA.LAMBDA@BIONET-20.ARPA (05/20/88)

From: Doug Brutlag <brutlag@IC2060>

I use either KERMIT or SMARTERM-100 as a terminal emulator on my
IBM-PC since they allow one to swap the DELETE and BACKSPACE functions
allowing better interaction with TOPS-20 that expects DELETE keys only.
Unfortunately, MacTerminal does not support this so that on a Macintosh
one is obliged to type Command-BACKSPACE for DELETE as Larry Kedes
suggested.

Is there any other experience with terminal emulators for the
Mac's that allow BACKSPACE-DELETE swap and also good file transfer?
I have found the version of MacKERMIT from Steve Engel@Harvard to do
both of these but it has a number of bugs that prevent it from being
generally useful.
