PD FELLOWSHIP IN CONFOCAL LM AND HVEM OF INVASIVE TUMOR CELLS
We expect to have a PDF position available at the NIH Albany HVEM Biotechnolog
y Resource on July 1 1989. The position will be decided on in May 1988. The Fel
low will work on the biology of invasive breast cancer cells in an existing in
vivo model and with cultured peritoneum. Migration in cultured peritoneum will
be followed by confocal laser scanning microscopy (CSLM) and the images recons
tructed on the computer. Invading cells will be tagged with a fluorescent dye.
The same material will be serially thick sectioned and the HVEM micrographs wil
l be reconstructed by our STERECON stereo graphics system. Migration rates will
be quantitated. The isolated High- and Lo invasive cell lines will also be exa
mined for oncogene expression by immunockytochemistry. Contact Donald Parsons,
