                    Research Scientist Position at the PIR


A Research Scientist position is immediately opened at the Protein
Identification Resource (PIR). The PIR is a publically funded resource for
the identification and analysis of protein sequence data. It maintains the
formost protein sequence data collection in the world and has cooperating
nodes in Europe and Japan.

The major goal of the PIR is to provide the biomedical research community with
an environment for the detailed examination of the protein related information.
This environment consists of an integrated software-data system that was
developed by research workers at the PIR. The position will involve research
into the continued development of this system. This includes research into
methods for sequence analysis and biologically realistic schemes for data
representation and retrieval.

Successful applicants should have a Ph.D. in biology and/or computer science
and demonstrable skill in both fields. Please send C.V. to
