ROGER WILLIAMS CANCER CENTER AT BROWN UNIVERSITY
POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS
The Roger Williams Cancer Center has positions for 3 postdoctoral
fellows in a vigorous research program studying the biochemical
mechanisms controlling normal and neoplastic cell growth, with a focus on
angiogenesis. Postdoctoral candidates should have training in
biochemistry, cell, or molecular biology.
PROJECTS INCLUDE:
Biochemistry: (i) characterize and purify growth-factor receptors
involved in the angiogenic response; (ii) study specific cellular
functions controlled by cellular substrates of these growth-factor-
receptor tyrosine kinases; (iii) study the mechanisms whereby activators
and inactivators of protein kinase C modulate the angiogenic response.
Molecular biology: (i) clone and sequence lambda gt11 cDNA's coding
for key cellular substrates of receptor-protein-tyrosine kinases; (ii)
perturb the angiogenic response by modifying the expression of these
genes and their endocded proteins.
Applicants should submit CV and names of three references to: Dr. A.
Raymond Frackelton, Jr., Roger Williams Cancer Center, 825 Chalkstone
Ave., Providence, RI 02908.
