SENIOR BIOLOGICAL NMR POST THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE UK A post of Senior Technical Officer is available in the Department of Biochemistry, Cambridge, UK, to take up apppointment on 1 October 1989. Applications are invited from experienced NMR spectroscopists. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee the high-field NMR facilities located within the Department (Bruker AM400WB, AM500 and AMX600 spectrometers), to provide training and assistance in NMR methodology and to implement new NMR techniques. The appointment will be for up to five years, with the likelihood of reappointment for periods not exceeding five years at a time, as the Appointments Committee may determine; the General Board, on the recommendation of the Appointments Committee, are empowered to authorize the reappointment to the retiring age of a Senior Technical Officer who has held that office continuously for not less than five years. So this may become a permanent position. The salary for a Senior Technical Officer, not ordinarily resident in College, is 13,365 pounds a year, rising by nine annual increments to 19,310 pounds.
