The following position is available in the Dept. of Clinical Investigation, Letterman Army Medical Center, San Francisco, CA 94129 You must be a U.S. citizen to apply RESEARCH PHYSIOLOGIST GS-413-12/13 announcement number 59-89 General Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree with major study in one of th animal sciences, physiology or closely relatd discipline or field of science. Must have 24 semester hours of basic animal sciences and 10 semester hours in animal physiology. Specialized experience: three (3) years of professional experience directly related to physiology. Highly qualifying criteria: KSA elements; elaborate on on page of plain bond paper per KSA, your qualifications in: 1. Ability to conduct an independent research program 2. Knowledge of research grant and/or proposal preparations and review techniques. Duties: as a professional reserch physiologist conduct and participate in research projects in support of a graduate medical education program. Research involves in vivo and in vitro techniques, including experimental surgery, ele electro-chemical analysis, radioisotope tracer procedures, etc. Would oversee running of GCMS and HPLC labs as well as overall supervisor for animal studies. Prepares scientific protocols. Consults with interns, residents, fellows, nurses and othr medical staff in preparation of scientific protocols.
