RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES 1. Structure-function studies using directed mutagenesis and expression in E. coli of interleukin-6 and other cytokines in conjunction with molecular modeling, crystallography. See PNAS (USA) 85:9226-0430 (1988). 2. Elucidation of the functional domains of the regulatory serine protease prothrombin via molecular modeling, mutagenesis and expression. DNA and peptide synthesizers, HPLCs, and Evans and Sutherland PS390 graphics workstation etc are available in our lab. Individuals with experience in protein chemistry, enzymology, molecular genetics, molecular modeling, or biochemistry, at the B.S., M.S and Ph.D. levels are encouraged to apply.
