  MOLECULAR BIOLOGY, POPULATION GENETICS and GENOME EVOLUTION

                     of BACILLUS SUBTILIS

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

A number of positions are available at both graduate and
postdoctoral level in the area of molecular genetics of Bacillus
subtilis.

Areas under investigation include:

1) molecular genetic analysis of the population structure and
   genome evolution of B.subtilis
2) B.subtilis genome sequence analysis
3) high level expression and secretion of heterologous proteins
4) molecular genetic analysis of the initiation of sporulation
5) analysis of segregational plasmid instability
6) analysis of the defective prophage PBSX

Applicants for the postdoctoral positions should have experience in
molecular biological techniques, in particular DNA sequencing.
