Bill, it appears this advertisement came over BITNet from an industrial employer. What is IRLEARN.UCD.IE? I've forgotten who can use BITNet, but there are restrictions. One day all mail will come to us electronically, but right now I think our fledgling e-mail capability would be overwhelmed if we got any significant amount of advertising on BITNet. Greg

I just noticed it is from .COM, a commercial subscriber to BITNet, rather than an interloper.

Please, this is a bulletin board for posting job opportunities. Some of us want jobs, academic or commercial - the commercial jobs keep the pressure up on academic salaries against the efforts of politicians (this is particul- arly important in high unemployment countries like the UK). So will those who already have jobs keep quiet about whether postings come from academic or commercial sources - which is misleading anyway (I am forced to go through a computer users club because so few academic sites in the UK can afford the Usenet connection, and the way that the Americans force us to pay for receiving as well as sending mail across the Atlantic). I want to see all job opportunities over bionet.jobs (and misc.jobs.offered). It's the only way I can hear in time of jobs overseas. So can the self-appinted censors shut up.
