ROYAL POSTGRADUATE MEDICAL SCHOOL (University of London) INSTITUTE OF OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY Post 1 RESEARCH OFFICER Applications are invited for a three year research assistant post to study the mechanisms of transtrophoblast transfer of glucose and amino acids, and their control by growth factors and hormones, in the regulation of human fetal growth. Applicants should have a good honours degree in Biochemistry or related subjects and interest in or experience of cell culture or membrane transport would be an advantage. The post is funded by the MRC at a starting salary of 11,466 pounds p.a. (inclusive of London Weighting) on the 1B scale. Post 2 RESEARCH ASSISTANT A second post, for one year in the first instance, is also available for a study of the roles of fetal metabolites and hormones in the pathogenesis of fetal growth abnormalities. Similar qualifications are required. Experience or interest in high performance liquid chromatography would be helpful. This post carries a salary of 8397 pounds p.a. (under review).
