Has anyone solved the bug yet? I posted a message on this board and received three duplicates of it back. I presume all other subscribers got the same problem? Kirs Kristofferson was working on a similar bug, has anyone heard from him what the bug is and how it may be avoided? Win Hide Temple U. Philadelphia.

The systems people there have been alerted and are looking into it although the situation might also involve some fixes at the Daresbury node as well. I unfortunately can not do anything further myself. To the best of my knowledge, users who get their EMPLOYMENT/BIOJOBS postings through the other BIOSCI nodes (genbank.bio.net in the U.S., daresbury.ac.uk in the U.K., and bmc.uu.se in Sweden) are not receiving duplicates. Since many users have signed up at nodes other than their most local one (e.g., several people in the U.K. have signed up at IRLEARN because of the LISTSERV service as have some on BITNET in the U.S.) it is hard to determine this without seeing the message headers that people receive. If you are having problems you should contact the BIOSCI node that you signed up at by sending mail to one of the following addresses. Address Location Network ------- -------- ------- biosci@irlearn.ucd.ie Ireland EARN/BITNET biosci@uk.ac.daresbury U.K. JANET biosci@bmc.uu.se Sweden Internet biosci@genbank.bio.net U.S.A. Internet/BITNET It would be the most helpful if you could send along entire copies of all of the duplicates that you receive because the message headers may be needed to resolve the network traffic issues.
