Dr. Bassam Fraij is in desperate search of employment. He is currently in a a Abha, Saudi Arabia where he for many years has been teaching medical students biochemistry and doing a little blood protein research. He is not allowed to stay in KSA beyond Sept. 1 1990. A native West Bank Palestinian, he does not wish to go to the West Bank. No schooling is available there for his children. He has a green card from the US-INS and is thus wanting employment in the U.S. Although a permanent position would be great, he is willing to take a temporary teaching and/or research position. He received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Oklahoma State University, performing his thesis research on maize storage proteins. Postdoctoral training was with Drs. Hartman (Oak ridge) and Erslev (Jefferson Medical College). His postdoctoral training included extensive protein chemistry work including peptide sequencing and molecular cloning of nucleic acids. His publication list contains 15 publications. He is fluent in english and his accent is no impediment to understanding. If you can help, FAX to KSA 07-224-7570 before August 8 or mail to him PO Box 1572, Amman JORDAN thereafter.

Hi, I am currently an honours student at the Graduate School of Science and Technology at Bond University on the Gold Coast of Australia. Yesterday we were told that the school would be closed down at the end of December. I was going to be working here next year, but it doesn't look as though that will come through now!! I will be graduating before the closure occurs and will be looking for a job after this. This year I have been working on the chemical synthesis of proteins, the purification of those proteins and testing the activity of those proteins. If anyone out there has any positions available, please let me know. I am willing to consider positions anywhere in the world. Thanks, Karyn Davis.
