                       Position Available

                            BIOLOGIST
                     (Two Year Appointment)

Biologist needed to participate in a research project on
population biology of tropical rain forest trees.
Responsibilities include field work at Estacion Biologica La
Selva, Costa Rica for 7-8 months per year and laboratory work at
the University of Massachusetts at Boston for 2-3 months per
year.  Applicants must be citizens or residents of Costa Rica,
have a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in biology or related
disciplines and interest in tropical forest ecology.  Salary
range: US$7,000 - 8,500 per annum depending upon qualifications
and experience, plus benefits.  Additional funds are available to
cover room, board and other expenses at the field station and
travel to Boston and back to San Jose.  Send applications with
