The following advertisement for a molecular biologist will appear in Science in the near future: ********************************************************************* RESEARCH ASSOCIATE / POSTDOCTORAL POSITION NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE, BETHESDA, MD A position is currently available to study genotoxic stress responses in mammalian cells. Emphasis will be given to a recently-isolated group of novel DNA-damage-inducible genes that play a role(s) in negative growth control. Studies will also focus on the regulation of HIV-1 expression by genotoxic stress and on HIV-1 regulatory features shared with cellular stress-response genes. Experience in molecular biology and/or protein biochemistry, such as the purification and characterization of DNA-binding proteins, is desirable.
