                          BIOSEQUENCE ANALYST

Applications are invited for an independent (five year) research position
within the Laboratory of Mathematical Biology to work in the area of DNA and
protein sequence analysis. The Laboratory has strong interests in methods for
sequence comparison and alignment and in protein structure prediction. There
are excellent computing facilities, including Sun and Vax systems and NCUBE
parallel processor. The Institute provides an ideal environment for
collaboration with experimental groups. Applicants should have substantial
experience of research in the sequence analysis area and be able to develop
and lead a small team. The person appointed will be expected to contribute to
the scientific development of sequence computing facilities in the Institute.

The salary is within the range #14,038 to #22,311 pa, depending on experience,
plus #1,767 pa London Allowance. MRC Pension option.
