We are in need of an annotator for BioMagResBank, a database consisting of
information about proteins obtained by means of 2D, 3D, and 4D NMR. A
good annototor would be comfortable reading scientific papers, and should
have some sense of what can affect the conformation of a protein in solution.
Familiarity with NMR is not necessary. Job would involve reading journal
articles and extracting information such as temperature, pH and other
solution conditions, then entering them into a database. This would be an
opportunity to learn the basics of relational database practices, and also
to become familiar with other databases such as GenBank, PIR and Chemical
Abstracts. Salary range is $16,891 - $19,000. The position is now available.
