Molecular Cytogenetics Postdoctoral Position.
We are establishing a new center for physical genetics, located at
New York University. The laboratory is combining approaches borrowed
from molecular biology, genetics, polymer physics and computer science
to develop new, rapid methodologies for mammalian genomic analysis. The
present emphasis of the lab is on the development of new genomic
analysis schemes, rather than on actual mapping/sequencing of particular
organisms. Once our new methodologies are in place, we will apply them
to general mapping problems and chromosome structure/function
relationships.
Our laboratory has great need for an individual (postdoctoral
fellow) skilled in molecular cytogenetics to join our effort. This
individual would have the opportunity to learn and utilize the latest in
genomic methodology. Our facilities are extensive: micromanipulation
equipment, image processors, laser ablation setup, tissue culture
facilities, darkroom, etc.
Full support is guaranteed for three years, however, applicants are
urged to seek their own funding.
